Art Inspired Tags

Hello there, here is my next DT project for Art Anthology. I made some colorful purple and yellow tags, using some black for contrast. These are colorful and simple to create using Art Anthology's Colorations spray, somewhat mixed in with Minx ink. For added texture I used some Stone Effects through the stencil and Sorbet medium on the chipboard. For a tad more texture, I also applied some purple and black glass glitter. Hope you feel inspired to create your own...below you will find a step by step tutorial.

Be sure to stop by the Art Anthology blog for more inspiration from the DT.

Live Life Tag Board

Hi everyone, here with a DT project for the Art Anthology Blog. For this project I used some of the Art Anthology dimensional paints... Metal Effects, Velvet's and Sorbet. These paints are quite different than most paints I've used, they are translucent yet dimensional, so the heavier the application, the more dimensional and opaque they become. The Velvet's have a beautiful matt smooth finish, the Sorbet's have high gloss and a tinge of glitter, I used the combination of both for the leaves.

As for the Metal Effects, I love using them over black gesso by applying the copper first and highlighting with the gold, which makes the copper look more like a rusty background...love this technique, will definitely be using it on another project. On this project I also used it on the face mold to give it an aged, distressed look, hard to see the end result in the video, but you can see it in the close up photo.

Hope you're feeling inspired, be sure to stop by the Art Anthology Blog for more inspiration!

Enjoy

Born to Rock - Tag

Hi everyone, here's a fun, quick and easy tag I made for my DT project for this month's challenge at Mixed Media Warriors. I tried to mix it up a bit with a much larger tag than I'm used to using, yet keeping it somewhat simple by only using some ink pads, a stencil and embossing powder. I thought to use it as the actual gift, by adding a little bracelet for the loop of the tag, along with a couple of concert tickets that will later be clipped to the back. The mood board not only gave me inspiration for color, but the inspiration for a gift as well.

Hope you're inspired to join us for this month's challenge at Mixed Media Warriors, we would love to see what you create.

Enjoy...

Snowflake Tag/Ornament and Giveaway

Hello everyone, time for a project share and a double giveaway. I had mentioned that I wanted to do a giveaway before Christmas, cutting it close but here we are! :)  In the meantime, I am happy to say I have since reached just over 1000 subscribers on YouTube, so what better way to celebrate than to do a double giveaway. To enter the giveaway, all you will need is to be a subscriber of my YouTube channel, like and comment...the winners will be chosen at random and announced sometime in late January, good luck!!!

Meanwhile, I've been mad crazy trying to get so much done before heading out to visit my oldest son, who is so hosting his first Christmas Dinner, so happy and excited to say the least...the fact the I had time to make this post was a miracle, lol. With that said, he wants to start a little tradition, for every year he hosts a Christmas dinner, he wants me to make him a new ornament for his tree. Such a wonderful idea.

Well I thought it would be nice to add a bit of a twist. I wanted to make it more personal by creating the ornament as a chipboard tag first and attaching it to his gift with our sentiment on the back, which in turn he can use the tag as the ornament for his tree. The chipboard "mdf" is from a small circle mini album that I haven't used in forever... it's light, yet sturdy enough to last through time.

Enjoy...

Moments in Time

Hi all, happy to announce that once again I am a guest designer for Frilly and Funkie, as always, it is such a pleasure. This weeks challenge is hosted by Pamellia and the challenge theme is "Things with Wings"... create any vintage or shabby chic project with something that has wings. It can be butterflies, bees, dragonflies, whatever you can think of.

For my project I decided to do a shabby chic tag using purple, which is one of my least favorite colors to work with, but I just fell in love with the harlequin paper. For the wings challenge I chose to go with birds, I used the larger tag (#10) which would accommodate the clock, flowers and 2 birds that I knew I wanted to use. For the clock piece I used Scrapiniec decorative chipboard, I really love how a lot of their chipboard pieces are layered.

Be sure to stop by the Frilly and Funkie blog, join in on the challenge and check out some awesome inspiration from the design team.

Inspirational Butterfly Tag

Hi everyone, hope you're all having an enjoyable summer. Today I am happy to announce the I am the guest designer for Berry71Bleu's Challenge Blog... it's truly an honor, thank you Denise and the team for having me on.

This month's mood board is "Summer Hideaway" which is posted below...and my take on this month's challenge is more of a last hoorah to Summer. Change is near with the new fall season just ahead and with summer coming to an end, I thought it perfect to create an inspirational tag using some beautiful butterflies and perfect wording from Dylusions stamps... "what appears to be the end is usually the start of a new beginning".

Love these colors, by far my favorite color combo, with my favorite color yellow being at the top... I can't tell you how thrilled I was to use them in my tag. I have a video tutorial with a complete supply list posted below. Be sure to stop by Berry71Bleu's Challenge Blog for much more inspiration and have some fun by joining in on the challenge too!

Mixed Media Tag - Enjoy

Hello creative friends, today I want to share with you a mixed media tag I made to go with some small gifted items I have sent out. Didn't have time to do a tutorial, but below I will have all the items used to create this tag. I so love playing with different textures and mediums, there really is no right or wrong way... just play with it and have fun!

I used the Tim Holtz tag die cut for the first tag layer, added foam tape behind it and adhered it to a slightly bigger tag that I cut out for the mat. I distressed all around the edges of the tags, added a flower eyelet for the hole and tied it with some jute twine, which was partially glued behind some of the little flowers.

After adding all of the different elements and mediums I used gesso for a bit of a shabby chic appeal. All in all, I'm happy with how it turned out and hope she likes it too.

Enjoy...

Happy New Year... Card, Tag and More!

Hello my creative friends,  I have to say it's been an amazing year working with Stacy, Deb and the Design Team. As of today though, this will be my last post for Timeless Twine and Bella Creationz. I want to thank all of the girls for making this a fun loving year!!!

Christmas will soon be here, but shortly after is New Year's Eve, which will be welcoming us into the New Year. For most of us, it's Party Time and in my case, I've been invited to one... so what better way to celebrate than to bring a wonderful personalized gift to your Hostess. I decided I would bring some Champaign, a gift bag with an "over the top" game to play and a fun shaker card.

Enjoy...

For the shaker card...
I used the "Holiday Sentiments" stamp set from Bella Creationz and from MFT the Die-namics pierced rectangle frames die. For the inside a combination gold sequins with mini micro beads and stars, some white flower soft for the snow and I embossed the background with a swirl embossing folder.

For the gift bag...
I used "Solid Black" Timeless Twine to hang the bells from the tag, from Bella Creationz I used a small tag that I covered with the gold metallic sticker sheet and a smaller tag that I heat embossed in black, for the hole I used a gold reinforcement sticker. The stamped sentiment is from the "Holiday Sentiments" stamp set. I also used a scalloped die, to cut the center of the smaller tag and added foam tape behind it.

For the final touch, I personalized the Champaign bottle with her last initial. To match the gift bag I used a gold metallic sticker sheet from Bella Creationz and  the center of the gold reinforcement stickers for the circles on the black cardstock and finally I had to add a huge metallic bow.

Looking forward to celebrating the New Year!!!

Keep Calm and Jingle On - Tag

Hello my creative friends, hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I'm here today with another DT project for Cardz TV. I love shaker cards, so I figured why not do a shaker tag. I used Cardz TV Stamps "Naughty or Nice" for the sentiment, which I so love. I used a Tim Holtz die for the tag, Spellbinders label dies for around the window and covered it in silver embossing powder and silver glitter.

I went to Michaels and was lucky enough to find some beautiful 12x12 paper pads in silver and white and another in gold and white, I also found some in 6x6, so needless to say, I used some off those papers for this project. I added some silver bells, silver snowflake stickers and white chiffon ribbon, I also added some sequins from Bella Creationz  and "Graphite Gray" Timeless Twine.

Please head over to Cardz TV Stamps for newly released stamp sets!

Alphabet Layered Birthday Tags

Hi everyone, I'm here today with a DT post for Timeless Twine, for this month's projects we will be using some "Cape Cod" twine. Yellow is my favorite color and together with grey and white, it's an awesome combo of colors, so I couldn't be happier to make a project or two using this twine.

I made some birthday tags that I found in the Silhouette store- design#72446. There is really no need to add anything to the tag other than the twine, which completes it perfectly. I am currently working on some birthday cards that will be matching with these, I will be sharing it on my next post for Timeless Twine, so stay tuned.

Stroll Down Memory Lane - Tag

Hi everyone, here with a project I made for the DT challenge from Timeless Twine and Bella Creationz. Today on the blog is "Tag it Tuesday" and I used the "Oh Snap" stamp set for the "Memories" sentiment. Going through my papers from Graphic 45's "Secret Garden", I found an image of a little girl playing in the flowers, which in turn, did indeed bring back some wonderful memories of me as a child.

I wanted to add many flowers to my tag, so I decided to make a the large #10 size tag, which measures 4.125 x 8.25 which I cut out with my Silhouette. I used Timeless Twine "Natural White" which was looped around a couple of flowers and also for hanging the tag. I love this twine as it can used an almost any project.

You can find this tag pretty much at any craft store or as an svg file for Cricut and/or the Silhouette store. I did layer the large tag with a blue smaller tag and stitched it with #10 crochet. I stamped the larger tag with the BoBunny script stamp with the "Coffee" archival ink pad.

Flowers are from Petaloo and the metal accents are from Craft Embellishments which I love and can be found at Hobby Lobby. I think I have every single metal embellishment they make, they come in the nicest colors of blues, yellows, reds and greens.

Enjoy...
